As part of this dedication, we are proud to celebrate the achievement of our team members who have recently earned their Certified Dementia Assistant (CDA) certification through a specialized training program facilitated by Inspired Memory Care.

Over the past six months, our staff engaged in a comprehensive learning experience designed to enhance their understanding and approach to dementia care. The training covered six key areas:

Understanding Dementia: Recognizing the hallmarks of Alzheimer’s, Vascular Dementia, Frontal Temporal Dementia, and Lewy Body Dementia.
Identifying Symptoms & Providing Support: Developing awareness of cognitive changes and implementing best practices for resident care.
Creative Communication & Person-Centered Approaches: Learning effective ways to connect with residents and foster meaningful interactions.
Navigating Distress: Addressing challenges such as wandering, resistance to personal care, repetitive questioning, and fall prevention.
Engaging Residents with Purpose: Designing personalized and meaningful activities that promote cognitive engagement and emotional well-being.

This hands-on, interactive training empowered our team with valuable tools to enhance the quality of life for our residents. By focusing on empathy-driven care and evidence-based strategies, our Certified Dementia Assistants are better equipped to support individuals with dementia in a way that respects their unique needs and experiences.
