Westchester County is taking a proactive approach to aging. The Department of Senior Programs and Services, in collaboration with the Westchester Public/Private Partnership for Aging Services, has introduced the “Live Well & Age Well: The Planning Ambassadors for Aging Program.” This initiative aims to ensure that residents have a fulfilling and high-quality life as they age.
What’s the Program About? The program revolves around a comprehensive survey crafted by Fordham University’s Ravazzin Center on Aging. This online questionnaire delves into various aspects of aging, from long-term care and caregiving to technology, transportation, housing, and nutrition. It’s a tool designed to get you thinking about your golden years and how to make the most of them.
Who Can Participate? If you’re 18 or older, you’re eligible to take part in this survey. Whether you’re an older adult aiming to enhance your present life quality, someone from any age group pondering about the future, or a caregiver worried about your loved one’s future, this survey is for you.
Why Should You Participate? Your input is invaluable. The feedback from the survey will guide the planning of essential senior programs and services in Westchester County. The county aspires to gather insights from a minimum of 3,000 residents from various age groups. Your participation can make a significant difference.
How Can You Take the Survey? The survey is primarily available online at this link. For those who prefer in-person interactions, select DSPS events, religious institutions, businesses, and other venues will have trained Planning Ambassador faculty on-site. They’ll assist you in navigating and completing the survey.
