At The Ambassador of Scarsdale, our music program stands as a cornerstone of our community’s vibrant life, offering a range of therapeutic and enriching experiences for our residents. Through a diverse array of interactive, participatory, receptive, and creative activities, our residents are encouraged to express themselves and connect with one another in deeply meaningful ways.
Programs such as Rhythmic Exploration, Sing Alongs, Tone Bar Ensemble, and Move and Groove not only foster cognitive, physical, emotional, and spiritual development but also enhance social cohesion and individual well-being. Each activity is thoughtfully designed to cater to the varied interests and needs of our residents, from those who thrive on active participation to those who prefer more receptive engagements.
We are proud to partner with Marlon Sobol, MT-BC, LCAT, a distinguished percussionist and music therapist, who plays a crucial role in enriching our music offerings. Marlon brings a wealth of experience from his extensive career in music therapy within healthcare settings, where his efforts have been widely recognized and celebrated. His work has been featured in prominent publications and media, including “DRUM!” Magazine, “Preserving Your Memory” Magazine, and NPR’s “Soundcheck” with John Schaefer.
Marlon’s philosophy is rooted in the power of music to transform and heal. He believes in the continual growth of both the musician and the person, finding inspiration through challenging musical engagements, collaborative performances, and creative projects. His approach ensures that our music programs not only entertain but also inspire and facilitate personal growth among our residents.
By sharing his talent and passion for music therapy, Marlon helps us create a nurturing environment where every resident can find their rhythm and voice, contributing to a dynamic and inclusive community atmosphere. His presence enhances our programs, making each musical interaction more impactful and meaningful.
